Is acne pimples and redness common in teenagers and medications for cystic acne

Though often misunderstood, folliculitis is simply the result of infected hair follicles. It resembles a red, itchy pimple with a hair in the center, and it may contain white pus. Inflammation of the infected area results in itchy, sensitive skin. It is most common on the face and scalp, or on areas which experience excessive friction from clothing, like the inner thighs.
Research into the causes, and possible treatments, for the acne condition is ongoing and the result of this effort is a growing range of effective treatments.
Acne is not caused by dirt. Although oil on the skin can keep the pores from washing out the keratin and dead skin cells. As a result these substances get trapped inside the follicle and eventually result in a pimple. Therefore it is a good idea to keep the skin cleaned of oil that can clog the pores.
